SMI Model SM7-1018 is a latching, coaxial Transfer Switch designed and qualified for use in a space environment. Having been delivered to several space programs, the SM7-1018 series is manufactured to S-level standards and employs space qualified parts and semiconductors.

In addition to SMI's standard screening tests, customized acceptance test programs are developed according to customer requirements.

Assembly and test is performed in SMI's Hi-Rel Division and is segregated from non-space applications. The Hi-Rel Division maintains a 700 square foot, Class 1000 Clean Room for assembly of critical items.
